No other team as second-rate as the Phoenix Suns can possibly have a fan base so eager to see its team take the floor after a longer-than-usual off-season. On Friday, October 16, the Valley’s rabid hoops fans will get their chance when the Phoenix Suns make their home preseason debut (against NBA-caliber talent, at least) versus the Philadelphia 76ers. What to watch for as the Suns tune it up for the regular-season opener on October 28? All eyes have to be on Amar’e Stoudemire. The superstar forward had off-season eye surgery, and he’s reportedly slimmer and in better shape than he’s been in recent years. With a supporting cast of guys either too young or too old, the Suns are finally his team.
