Telling everyone to “shop local” is totally in right now, but supporting your local community involves more than choosing a local coffee shop over Starbucks or perusing your neighborhood’s public market.

Put your money where your mouth is and peep our local fashion industry talent at Community Night, the kickoff event for this year’s Scottsdale Fashion Week. Hosted by ASU alum and “Good Evening Arizona” anchor Carey Peña, the event showcases talented local apparel and accessories designers, fashion students, models, and hair and makeup stylists in this all-volunteer fashion show.

Scottsdale Fashion Week goes off from Thursday, November 4, through Saturday, November 6, at various locations in the downtown Scottsdale area, but is based at Scottsdale Fashion Square, 7014 East Camelback Road. Tonight’s Community Night event, which is all ages and runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., starts with an accessory shindig, followed by local designer shows. Tickets are $15.
