Ghosts in the Machina

At an evening of poetry and spoken word, should one express any uncertainty about which is which? Well, a lady in hipster specs once snapped at us, “If you don’t understand the difference between theater and performance art, you’re not performance artists.” But nobody at Deus Ex Machina is that mean. Founders Michele Bledsoe, Richard Bledsoe, Jeff Falk, Steve Gompf, and Annie Lopez are the most charming rapists of mainstream culture you’ll ever meet. At Love and Death, the Poetry Industrial Complex’s performance addressing naps both violent and dirt-related, the guest performers might be a little scary, but no worries.
