The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is much more hip than you think. If you don’t believe it, then you really need to start checking out the stuff.
Like, now, dude.
The Arizona Bach Festival is scheduled to burn down various Valley stages for more than a week. Highlight concerts include ABF’s opening and closing salvos on Sunday, January 9, and January 15, respectively. The first concert showcases violinist Stephen Redfield, while the grand finale features the Phoenix Chorale, the Bach Festival Orchestra, and selected soloists interpreting the Mass in B minor, aka Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis 232, which was assembled by the master composer one year before his death. (Each of these performances take place at Central United Methodist Church, 1875 North Central Avenue.)
