Start with Phoenix Theatre’s production of No Way to Treat A Lady. This revitalized, award-winning 1997 Off-Broadway play, composed by Douglas J. Cohen, is based on the book of the same name, a dark comic novel written by William Goldman in 1968 nearly a decade before he penned Marathon Man and The Princess Bride.
Kit (Rusty Ferracane) is the master-of-disguise serial killer, Christopher Williams plays Morris, the detective tracking him. Sarah (Jenn Taber) is the detective’s girlfriend . . . and the killer’s next victim. Seventeen catchy songs in a noir setting directed by Richard Roland showcase this ensemble’s musical talent. Ferracane proved his pipes in The Music Man last year and showstopper Lisa Fogel plays five different characters.
