Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
We love First Friday, but sometimes roaming the streets during the monthly art walk means being accosted by preachers or petition-wielding anarchists. Save yourself from that nonsense by hunkering down at Legend City Studios where “Chaos Theory 10” descends on the warehouse space with an artists’ reception.
As the name implies, this is the 10th year organizer Randy Slack has coordinated the show. The lifelong painter and Phoenix native, who co-owns Legend City, says he created the exhibit so that he could check out his favorite artists, as he’s usually stuck managing galleries on First Friday. Expect works from more than 50 artists in mediums ranging from sculpture to installation art to video to photography.
“I wanted to bring some pizzazz downtown,” says Slack. “The only theme to the show is that I want anything that’s fresh and new to the time. This is a chance to do something crazy, out of the box, a bit experimental.”
