Take the official bio of Suzanne Westenhoefer, America’s first openly gay comedian. Her 1994 HBO special – which earned a Cable Ace Award nomination — was the first by a lesbian. She was the first “out” lesbian to perform on Letterman. And boldly going where few straight comics dare, she works predominantly unscripted.

Westenhoefer keeps breaking down barriers and breaking out no-holds-barred storytelling when she wraps up a run at the Tempe Improv.
