So your grandma willed you a Navajo rug, and you’ve been using it as a door mat. Stop, for Chrissakes, and haul it down to the Native Art & Artifacts Appraisal Day. As many of us have witnessed on PBS’ Antiques Roadshow, authentic Native Americana can be worth a bundle. Your mat may not make the cut with the art traders who’ll be on hand, but you never know. At a previous Appraisal Day, an 1850s-vintage deerskin dress was assessed at 70,000 clams. The cost is $30 for the first item, $25 for the second, and $20 for each additional item, with a limit of 10 per person.

Sat., March 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 2009
