Sandwiched between Phoenix and Tempe, Scottsdale often looms in the shadows of two cities that are generally perceived as more artist friendly. But who’s buying that art? Where do the folks who appreciate the artists live? Sure, it’s easier to find a cheap beer in Tempe or to find a little bohemian conversation in a downtown Phoenix haunt, but it’s a helluva lot easier to find a patron of the arts in Scottsdale.
Enter the 41st annual Scottsdale Arts Festival. From Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 13, Scottsdale will again host one of the most respected art festivals in the country, further buttressing its case for most art-friendly city in the Valley. With a smorgasbord of activities, featured artists, fine local dining, and premier local entertainers, Scottsdale spares no expense in its annual expression of art appreciation — and neither should you. So comb your hair, trim your beard, and yes, they’ll valet your Vespa.
