Sunburned, hungover, and sporting a few scrapes on your backside? Busted, dude. You’ve been tubing down the Salt.
A summertime staple, Salt River Tubing and Recreation offers two, three, and five-hour trips down the mountain-stream waters of the Lower Salt River rapids in Tonto National Forest. While those looking for a relaxing drift with Mother Nature are best advised to tube weekdays, the partying set knows that weekends on the Salt are a floating party barge, where bikinis, alcohol, screaming, splashing, and a jam-packed waterway are part of the glide-along good time.
Along with a cooler filled with water and goodies, make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, water shoes, a sheet or towel to drape the tube; and lift that ass high and proud when you hit the low water levels.
