Making new images look like old relics that just came out of a crumbling leather billfold is a slippery slope – we’ve seen some baaaad attempts at pseudo nostalgia – but Terry Pisel’s “Chicago” wonderfully pulls it off. The masters’ degree holder in architecture from Arizona State University and Try Design owner captures some iconic (but not cliché) images of the Windy City – including a desolate Lake Michigan and the Loop-located circular apartment high rise – and adds noise to the color likenesses. The final result for the viewer is a hushed and pensive perspective of the architecturally gorgeous city.
