If you eye a taco shell correctly, it resembles a golden Southwestern sunrise that could be dawning right before the Arizona Taco Festival.

It should be a glorious day devouring the curved Mexican delight, all while the fierce “Best Taco” competition rages on; the event features more than 30 of your favorite restaurants and amateur teams, all fussing and finessing their tacolicious recipes to be the best in categories of chicken, beef, pork, and fish. Then lick, shoot, and suck your way through the boutique tequila expo, conquer the Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest, crunch elotes while watching the cooking demos, and cool off with paletas to live music. The niños can also party hard with hourly piñata beatings at the Kid Zone.
