Some Phoenicians believe that spring is just a myth perpetuated by greeting card companies and the Easter Bunny. It’s easy to believe, given that the sunny, 70-degree weather that most people associate with spring doesn’t always stick around in these parts.
But even if the weather doesn’t play along, there are other ways to grab hold of that elusive season, like at the Desert Botanical Garden’s Spring Butterfly Exhibit. There is nothing more spring-like than watching butterflies sipping from their favorite flowers and maybe even stopping to rest on your shoulder. This annual event allows guests the opportunity to mingle with hundreds of the winsome winged creatures in an enclosed pavilion.

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
