If their gloomy and grinding mixes of industrial music are any indication, the minds of DJs Kill the Alex and Dark Mark are a shadowy place indeed.

Bleak and blaring tracks from such artists as Front Line Assembly and Velvet Acid Christ get crunched together in cacophonous fashion into dissonant dance tracks created by the pair, who launch their new industrial dance night ETHOS on Friday, July 8, at The Icehouse, 429 West Jackson Street.

It’s the perfect soundtrack for the freaky and fetishistic photography of local lensman Martin Hazine, whose kinky and chiaroscuro-laden pics will adorn the Icehouse during an evening filled with music and mayhem. Local grindcore band Steam Synthetic and performance art troupes will also perform.

Fri., July 8, 9 p.m., 2011
