Childhood and adolescence are absolutely overloaded with watershed moments: Your first kiss, the inevitable “birds and the bees” discussion with the ‘rents, and, of course, the first time you watch Star Wars.

For local artist Nathan Nelson Ross, the pimpest moment of pre-adolescence came when he first saw the words, “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” on his living room television. After that, nothing would ever be the same in his universe. “Seeing that opening crawl was amazing,” Ross says. “Most everything I’ve created art-wise has been influenced by those movies in some respect.”

That includes the 10 paintings and stencil-based works he created for “The Empire,”

Fridays, Saturdays, 5 p.m.-midnight; Mondays-Thursdays, 12-7 p.m. Starts: March 4. Continues through March 30, 2011
