The final Bloodfest rave in Mesa was a crimson-soaked EDM freakfest

Bloodfest was unlike any other Arizona rave. The infamous annual Halloween season dance party, which first took place in a Phoenix warehouse in 2006, became known for dousing its attendees with theatrical stage blood as they partied into the wee hours of the night.

Originally conceived as “an underground rave meets a GWAR concert,” Bloodfest has always been messy. Clothes have been stained as organizers sprayed and showered with gallon after gallon of crimson-colored liquid.

Over the years, Bloodfest has been held at various venues across the Valley, ranging from nightclubs to remote desert locations, and has featured notable DJs and acts, including legendary rave pioneer Frankie Bones and provocative local fetish performance troupe The Agents of Lust.

Earlier this year, Bloodfest’s longtime promoters announced the rave’s 2024 edition would be its last, as they’re moving on to other projects. The final Bloodfest, which took place on Oct. 12 at Mesa bar and nightclub Endgame featured plenty of blood-soaked rave action, as well as a performance by The Agents of Lust and sets by local DJs like Sid Snow and Grund.
