Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has a new deal for illegal immigrants serving time in his jails: Wash dishes and do laundry, and you'll get the boot back to Mexico in half the time.
Assuming eating some of Joe's loaf isn't a stipulation of the deal, it sounds like a hell of a bargain.
Arpaio announced his new plan today, saying it's in response to a lack of volunteer workers at MCSO jails.
Under Joe's plan, if an inmate who is an illegal immigrant volunteers to do things like wash dishes, or do laundry, they will be credited for two days served for one day in jail.
Sentences, Arpaio claims, will be completed earlier than expected under his plan, which will save taxpayers money and clear space in the jails for the next round of illegals who Arpaio believes are infesting the gulags with chicken pox.
After the illegals complete their sentences, as KTAR's Bob McClay puts it, illegals will "move on to the next step."
The next step, of course, is getting tossed back over the border.
