Bitter & Twisted Tuesday, January 6

This week Bitter & Twisted chef Bob Tam will debut a new weekly special that’s sure to appeal to fans of his Asian-inspired cuisine. Called Kaiju Fried Chicken ($18) the dish features a two-day brined half chicken fried in tempura batter and covered with Saigon-style salted carmel. It’s served with a Japanese pancake drizzled with Sriracha soba sauce and serrano mayo along with house pickles and bonito flakes. The new dish will be available on Tuesday only. On Wednesday Bink’s Scottsdale will host a four-course wine dinner featuring Meyer Family Cellars, a family owned and operated Mendocino County vintner. The menu includes dishes such as Scallop Crudo with wasabi salmon caviar, feijoa, pickled red onions, sea beans, clementine, chardonnay gelee, and mandarin oil paired with Meyer Family Cellars Chardonnay and Cider Braised Pork Cheeks with butternut squash, rapini, and garlic paired with Meyer Family Cellars “Spitfire” Cabernet Sauvignon. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $76 per person. Call 480-664-9238 for a reservation.

Nabers Wednesday, January 7

If getting in shape is on your list of goals for the new year, Nabers in Chandler has a fun way to start. On Wednesday night the bar and restaurant will be offering free swing and line dance lessons — Carrie will offer line dance lessons from 6:30 to 8 p.m. followed by swing lessons with Steve from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Country swing band Trailer Queen will be performing live and the restaurant will be offering specials such as $5 whiskey drinks and half price select wines by the bottle.
