The Phoenix Film Festival returns to Harkins Scottsdale 101 from Thursday, April 3, through Thursday, April 10, and, if its opening night is any indication, we’d bet that this year’s lineup will be a good one.

Last week, Phoenix Film Fest organizers announced that the opening-night film kicking off the 2014 edition of the event will be Stephen Knight’s Locke. Knight wrote the screenplay for Eastern Promises, and Locke marks his second outing as a full-length feature director.
Starring Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) as Ivan Locke and Ruth Wilson (Luther), the R-rated drama traces Locke’s life falling apart in the course of a car ride.
The full festival schedule is set for release in mid-February.
Tickets will be available Monday, Feburary 17, with prices ranging from $13 for a single-screening ticket to $300 for an all-access pass, via www.phoenixfilmfestival.com/tickets or by calling 602-955-6444.
