When a pair of women found Christopher Shahin in the backseat of his car with a girl last year, Shahin let the women know that the girl was his “baby mama” and that “she fine.”

The girl was not Shahin’s “baby mama,” nor was “fine” — she was a 14-year-old girl Shahin plucked from the grocery store.

Thanks to a plea deal, Shahin — who was 24 years old at the time of his arrest — was sentenced on Friday to probation, and also received a deferred jail sentence after pleading guilty to lesser charges.

According to court documents previously obtained by New Times, two women noticed a white Infiniti sedan parked in a cul-de-sac in Goodyear on May 23, 2011, and the women noticed what appeared to be a struggle between two people in the back seat.

The 14-year-old girl in the backseat was crying, but Shahin told the women it was just his “baby mama,” and “she fine.”

Less than 10 minutes later, Goodyear police received a call from a man reporting an incident between an adult and his 14-year-old daughter.

The girl’s father told the cops that his daughter had been kidnapped from a Fry’s grocery store that day, some sort of molestation had occurred, and the man then dropped her off at a school, according to the documents.

The women had taken down the license plate to Shahin’s Infiniti — and reported it to police — which led the cops to Shahin’s place in Tempe.

When police showed up Shahin was backing out of the driveway in his car, and he sped away when an officer approached him — grazing the officer in his escape, according to the documents.

The next morning, police were talking to a man who said he’d picked up Shahin around 1:30 a.m. that day.

The man said Shahin was crying when he picked him up, saying something about running from a man wearing a vest and holding a gun, as well as being chased by two women after having sex with someone in the west Valley.

Shahin was eventually found and arrested, and the 14-year-old girl picked Shahin out of a photo lineup.

While Shahin initially faced several serious charges — including child molestation, sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault on a police officer, and sexual conduct with a minor — he pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment and endangerment.

Shahin’s plea deal scored him three years of probation, as well as a deferred jail sentence of six months.
