Mitt Romney promised on Thursday night to put Americans back to work and help give the country the rewards it deserves.
Following speeches by Clint Eastwood and others at the Republican National Convention from Tampa, Florida, Romney touted his business credentials and Mormon faith as qualities that would guide him if elected president in November.
President Obama, on the other hand, “attacks success” and isn’t qualified for his job, he said.
With the occasional tilt of his head and a glowing smile, Romney told the cheering convention crowd about how his childhood buddies in Detroit cared more about sports teams than to which church he went, and how a risky plunge into business ownership in his 30s turned into a major success. Referencing the bad times many Americans are having, Romney promised to create 12 million jobs by repealing Obamacare, tailoring a new energy policy, and paying down the country’s debt.
