As fans continue to wait for Arizona’s first Din Tai Fung location to open in Scottsdale, the company has made plans to open its second Valley restaurant.

Din Tai Fung is coming to Chandler Fashion Center. The mall announced that it will be “officially reimagining our entire dining and entertainment district,” which includes new restaurants, a lawn for concerts, a splash pad and walking path.

The famous Taiwanese dumpling house is bringing its soup-filled Xiao Long Bao, fluffy buns and hand-pulled noodles to the updated area.

Din Tai Fung’s first Arizona location is still planned to open at Scottsdale Fashion Square, although since its initial announcement, the project has experienced delays. The restaurant was originally scheduled to open in 2025, but its opening date was pushed back to next year.

Din Tai Fung was founded in 1958 in Taipei, Taiwan and has since grown into a massive international chain with upscale eateries all over the world. In the U.S., the company steams dumplings at restaurants in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and New York.

The closest location to the Valley is in Las Vegas, where customers can find the large restaurant in the ARIA Resort & Casino. There, customers walk past windows to the kitchen, where they can see cooks expertly fold perfect dumplings.

“Bringing Din Tai Fung to Arizona is a significant milestone for our family, driven by the region’s vibrant culinary landscape,” Co-CEO Aaron Yang said in a statement provided to Phoenix New Times at the time.

Now, that milestone will double, with the addition of the Chandler restaurant. According to a post made by the mall, construction on the new dining and entertainment district will begin in January. Din Tai Fung is scheduled to open in Chandler in 2027.
