A new spot is coming to the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, featuring rooftop views, a lively ambiance and photo-worthy food and beverage offerings.

Above All Else is scheduled to open in early 2026.

“It’s a great space designed around the rooftop which I think is one of the best spots in Old Town Scottsdale,” says Austin Walter, Chief Executive Officer of Above All Hospitality.

Above All Else will be located on the second floor of the space formerly occupied by STK, a swanky steakhouse that recently moved a few blocks away.

“A lot of diners are looking for that Instagrammable wow factor when they go out,” says Walter, who has roots in the hospitality industry in Texas, Tennessee and Arizona, including opening Low Key Piano Bar in Tempe with his father in 2014. “We will definitely have that, but we also want to impress people with our food and cocktails.”

Above All Else is moving into the former second floor of STK.

The modern American menu at Above All Else will feature salads, light bites, shareable plates and a variety of entrees. While the menu is still in development, signature dishes will include Wagyu tartare, lobster tostada, a grilled peach salad and seared scallops.

“The menu is designed to have a little bit of everything, so there’s something for everyone,” Walter says.

Walter also plans to bring the wow factor to the cocktail menu. Cocktail options include a tableside old fashioned, the sweet and savory Wanderlust with dill-infused vodka, peach and celery bitters, tropical milk punch with passionfruit foam and a selection of martinis.

“It’s been a lot of fun creating the food and cocktail menu and working to bring this concept to Old Town Scottsdale,” Walter says. “When I travel, I take notes when I see interesting things and think, ‘How can we do it better?’”

Walter describes the decor as old English, and says the dark and moody space will be outfitted with rich jewel tones, flagstone and marble throughout the indoor-outdoor bar. Walter’s vision for the ambiance is upbeat, sexy and lively with DJs and firepits on the patio.

When Above All Else opens, it will offer dinner and happy hour with plans to add brunch and chef’s dinners, as well as space for private events.

“We want Above All Else to be a place where people can get drinks before or after dinner, or they can eat here,” Walter says. “There are so many fantastic choices in Old Town Scottsdale. We hope people will be blown away by our ambiance, incredible food and amazing drinks at fair prices and that Above All Else will become a go-to spot.”
