A new IKEA location is opening soon in north Phoenix.

The 75,000-square-foot retail store is taking shape at Village Square II shopping center near Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard. It will be the Swedish furniture and home goods retailer’s third location in the Valley and the first in Phoenix.

And this isn’t your typical warehouse-sized IKEA.

The new store is a small-format concept. Think curated instead of cavernous. Still, it’s stocked. More than 23,000 items will be available, including home décor, kitchenware and smaller furniture pieces.

Editor's Picks

Shoppers can browse fully furnished room displays, check out a section of gently used goods and grab a bite at the Swedish Deli. Expect hot dogs, cinnamon buns and, yes, the chain’s signature Swedish meatballs.

The location expands IKEA’s footprint in metro Phoenix. Its longtime Tempe store remains the Valley’s flagship, while a smaller Plan & Order opened at Scottsdale Promenade in 2025.

The Scottsdale store operates more like a design studio. Customers can explore showroom setups, consult with IKEA staff and place orders, though nothing is stocked on-site.

The IKEA store in north Phoenix blends both concepts: a smaller footprint with items you can purchase and take home the same day.
