Thursday afternoon, thousands of Arizona residents fed up with the Trump regime gathered in Downtown Phoenix for the latest mass protest against President Donald Trump and his administration. Several more sizeable protests occurred around the Valley and the nation.

Unlike recent protests, which began at the Arizona Capitol, the demonstration started downtown before rallygoers eventually marched several miles to the Capitol. With a high of 95 degrees — particularly unseasonable for late March — it was a sweltering day, though the Phoenix protest’s 3 p.m. start perhaps helped ease the heat.

What had people so riled up? A better question might be: What didn’t? Protesters waved signs taking aim at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, at Robert F. Kennedy Jr., at Trump’s war on Iran and much more. Seemingly every other sign mentioned the Epstein files.

A Phoenix New Times photographer was there to capture it all. Here are the best signs we saw at the latest “No Kings” protest.

Editor's Picks

a protester holds up a sign with a picture of donald trump and jeffrey epstein together, with sombreros imposed over their heads. the sign reads "dos pedos"
After Trump and the MAGA movement started making fun of Democrats who want to rein in ICE by tweeting pictures and videos of them with sombreros — just an openingly racist thing to do — this protester turns the tables.

Ikea getting hit with a stray here.

a protester holds a sign with an illustration of a pig in an ICE uniform, with the caption "quiet piggy"
You know how we know that’s not really an ICE agent? We can see its face.

a protester holds a sign that says "so fucked up even introverts are here"
Dude on the right: That is too much to read for one sign. The real kudos here go to the woman on the left.

a protester holds up several signs, one of which has an outline of a naked woman -- a reference to a note donald trump once sent jeffrey epstein -- that says "grab em by the midterms"
One way to solve the “too much to read for one sign” problem is to stitch some together to make a big sign Voltron. The reference on the left to Trump’s creepy birthday letter to Epstein is the real winner here.

a protester holds a sign that says "no one wants deez nuts" with pictures of robert f. kennedy, jr. j.d. vance and pam bondi
A lot going on here, but it certainly draws the gaze.

And here’s your “Least Subtle” winner. Sometimes, the best protest sign is blunt as hell.

Probably the best sign we saw. Just great design overall.
