‘Phantom,’ ‘The Outsiders’ lead ASU Gammage 2026-27 season

East Valley theater venue ASU Gammage unveiled its 2026-27 season lineup Monday evening.

The upcoming season will offer theatergoers musicals from all eras of Broadway beginning this fall, including classic shows like “The Sound of Music,” modern favorites such as “The Phantom of the Opera” and new award-winners like “The Outsiders.”

Colleen Jennings Roggensack, executive director of ASU Gammage and ASU vice president for cultural affairs, said, “Each year, we strive to bring the absolute best of Broadway to our community, and this season is no exception. From legendary titles to bold new works, these productions remind us why live theater continues to move, challenge, and inspire audiences of all ages. At ASU Gammage, we are committed to creating experiences that welcome everyone into the magic of Broadway.”

Eight of the shows on the list are included in a season subscription package. “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” and “Beetlejuice” are considered season add-ons.

Current season subscribers can renew now for the 26-27 Broadway season. Most new season subscriptions will be available beginning April 7; however, a limited number of balcony season ticket packages starting at $346 are now on sale at asugammage.com. ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ Sept. 16-Oct.4

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s dark, romantic masterpiece about the mysterious antihero who lives under the Paris opera house and the young soprano he’s infatuated with returns to Gammage after more than a decade.

‘Water for Elephants,’ Oct. 27-Nov. 1

Based on the novel by Sara Gruen, the show tells the story of a young man who joins a traveling circus as an elephant caretaker and falls in love with the boss’s wife.

‘Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical,’ Dec. 1-6

The animated classic comes to life on stage with songs like “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.”
