One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?
Martha Cooper‘s a household name in street art photography. She grew up taking photographs with her father and was turned on to graffiti and street art while living in New York.
She brought the art form into the limelight when she wrote and published Subway Art in 1984, and is known for her obsessive documentation street art pieces throughout the last 60 years.
This year, she’s bringing her subjects back to recreate (or remix) her own photos in their own style.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
