This photo shows Macayo’s restaurant along Central Avenue. I grew up in Phoenix and spent a lot of time along Central. We rode our bikes to Park Central, took the bus home from the movies, cruised endlessly in long loops up and down the main strip. Later we drove our kids to school, the library, the Art Museum. Central is the Main Street you can’t imagine a city not having, filled with the mundane, quirky and unique images that burn into memory over a lifetime.
