On Oct. 7, generations of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” fans packed ASU Gammage in Tempe for a 50th anniversary screening of the beloved cult film.

The event was hosted by Larry Viezel, president of the “Rocky Horror” fan club, and featured a special appearance by Barry Bostwick, now 80, who played Brad Majors in the film.

“Someone came to me and said, ‘Brad is my favorite character.’ I said, ‘What are you talking about? He’s not even mine,'” Bostwick quipped from the stage.

He also joked about why he took the role in the iconic film.

“I said, ‘I’m a serious actor,’ and then I found out I would get humped by Tim Curry and I said, ‘I’m in.'”

The event also included free prop bags for ticketholders, a costume contest, the traditional hazing of virgins (people who haven’t been to a “Rocky Horror” screening before) and lots of yelling things at the screen. It was an affair Frank N. Furter would have approved of.

Here are photos from the Tempe event.
