Each week Gem features one standout piece from a local shop. Whether it’s a jacket, necklace, or handbag, it’s on our have-to-have list.
What: These ’70s roper-style boots are beautifully broken in and perfect footwear for the Southwestern trend we’re seeing a lot of this season (think: dangling fringe, earthy prairie tones, and Native American-inspired patterns). Ralph Lauren‘s all about it (we are hopelessly lusting after this cashmere blanket coat), with Proenza Schouler and Diane von Furstenburg also hopping on the Conestoga bandwagon.
Where: Tempe-based Etsy shop Kitten Paws Vintage

Style these boots after the jump.
Style It: Play to the southwest trend with a little inspiration from model Arizona Muse’s Vogue spread, “Manifest Destiny,” from the mag’s February 2011 issue. A wine-colored maxi skirt with an airy, feminine top give the rough and tumble boots a girly, but still strong, edge.
Top it off with a heavy cowboy hat and a fringe-rimmed purse to complete the adobe chic look.
