The creatives behind Roosevelt Row CDC aren’t waiting for the economy to turn around — mostly because they’re too busy activating empty lots and organizing arts events.
If you’re fan of Downtown murals, First Friday, Third Friday, the A.R.T.S. Initiative, or the Downtown culture scene in general, then it’s probably time to tip your hat and toss a chunk of change to Roosevelt Row on Wednesday, May 4.
The organization will host its fourth-annual Pre-Summer Solstice
fundraising party at Bliss/Rebar from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., where you can
chat up a few gallery owners, talk to local artists and urban gardeners,
and hang out on the killer patio before it gets too hot.
Funds raised from ticket sales ($30 online, $40 at the door) will help Roosevelt Row’s A.R.T.S. initiative, which temporarily activates empty Downtown lots with arts markets, fairs, film spaces, and community gardens. Each ticket includes two drinks and complimentary appetizers.
During the party, the organization will also be auctioning off art pieces, gift baskets and certificates, and goods and services from local businesses. (Roosevelt Row members are also currently seeking contributions of auction items, which you can donate by sending them an email.)
