One new idea for every day in 2011. We’re talking big, small, local, international, in action, and on the drawing board. Here’s today’s — what’s yours?

It may be in Ursus Wherli‘s nature (and sense of humor) to appreciate things neat and organized.

The Swiss artist and comedian spends hours cleaning and rearranging items found in nature, pop culture, and fine art, and photographs the results for his latest series, The Art of Clean Up.

Wehrli gained recognition for his (very sarcastic) vision after he gave a TED talk in 2008 about “cleaner” art, which you can see below.

This year, make your gift count –
Invest in local news that matters.

Our work is funded by readers like you who make voluntary gifts because they value our work and want to see it continue. Make a contribution today to help us reach our $30,000 goal!

$30,000

His current missions include organizing cars in parking lots by color, ingredients in a typical fruit salad, the brush strokes of symbols in foreign languages, and the letters in alphabet soup.

Check out more of Wehrli’s efforts on his website and in his upcoming book.
