The hobbit actors from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ are coming to Phoenix Fan Fusion 2025

Phoenix Fan Fusion’s guest list for 2025 just got a precious addition. Actors Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd — best known for portraying the iconic hobbits in “The Lord of the Rings” cinematic trilogy — are set to attend at the pop-culture event from June 6 to 8 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Square Egg Entertainment, the Phoenix-based company that puts on Fan Fusion, announced the news earlier this week on social media.

It will be the first time Monaghan and Boyd — who played Merry and Pippin, respectively, in the films — have appeared at Fan Fusion.

Wood, who famously portrayed Frodo Baggins in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, previously attended the event in 2019. Astin, the actor behind Frodo's loyal companion Samwise Gamgee, appeared in 2016 (back when it was known as Phoenix Comicon).
Each actor has plenty of geek cred beyond their Tolkien roles. Wood’s extensive resume includes appearances in iconic flicks films like “Deep Impact” and “Back to the Future Part II,” while Astin is legendary for starrting in “The Goonies” and “Rudy.”

Monaghan gained fame for his work on “Lost” and “The Big Breakfast,” among others, and Boyd is known for roles in “Penny Dreadful” and “Master and Commander.”

Phoenix Fan Fusion’s 2025 guest list already includes such high-profile names as Marissa Tomei from “My Cousin Vinny,” “Married... with Children” and “Futurama” star Katey Sagal, Anthony Daniels from the "Star Wars" saga, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” actors Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner, character actor Ron Perlman and View Askewniverse director Kevin Smith.

Phoenix Fan Fusion tickets are available at phoenixfanfusion.com/pricing. Daily general admission is $39 to $59 and a full-event pass is $89. VIP admission is $595 and includes early entry to celebrity panels, a $100 credit for branded merch and access to dedicated autograph lines.
