The bookstore, which is located at 2011 E. Camelback Road, Suite C12, in the Town & Country shopping center, is housed in the old Forever 21 location.
Author Kathleen Glasgow will perform the official ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. She'll also be on hand to sign copies of her books, including "Girl in Pieces" and her newest release, "The Glass Girl."
The Town & Country store is the first Barnes & Noble to open in the Valley in two decades; the last was the Happy Valley Towne Center location in northwest Phoenix.
“It has been 20 years since we last opened a Barnes & Noble in Phoenix and are very pleased to do so now in The Shops at Town & Country,” James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble, said in a press release. “Our booksellers are eager to open the doors to this beautiful new Barnes & Noble and our baristas look forward to welcoming patrons into their brand-new B&N Café.”
Unlike the dark wood and forest green design aesthetic that Barnes & Noble is known for in its older stores, the look of the new location is lighter and airier in keeping with other recent openings. In addition to books, it will carry toys, games and gifts.
The Town & Country location will be one of 12 Barnes & Noble stores in metro Phoenix. The full list of stores is:
- 3111 W. Chandler Blvd., #2054 Chandler
