In our current timeline, we're looking for anything to give us a precious hit of dopamine.

Enter the Rabbit Ride, a new event hosted by Pedal Haus Brewery.

On Saturday, March 29, a herd of folks dressed up like bunnies will set off on bicycles from the local chain's Tempe outpost on Mill Avenue. Participants will then embark on a sidewalk-friendly bike route, stopping at The Shop Beer Co. and Hundred-Mile Brewing Co., both of which will offer live music and beer specials. The ride will conclude back at Pedal Haus Tempe for an afterparty.

Pedal Haus founder Julian Wright was inspired to create the event by the Tour de Fat bike extravaganza that took place in Tempe until 2022.

“We all miss the Tour de Fat ride that used to take place in Downtown Tempe. While our ride is much smaller, we hope it brings some of that fun energy,” he says.

The rabbit part doesn't come from the upcoming Easter holiday; rather, Wright chose bunnies as the ride theme because of the bronze rabbit statues located directly outside Pedal Haus Tempe, as well as the brewery's popular White Rabbit Hazy IPA. In celebration of the event, Pedal Haus will also be launching its Bunny Hop Peach IPA just two days prior, on Thursday, March 27.

To participate, be at least 21 years old and show up in costume (or at the very least, a nice pair of bunny ears) at 730 S. Mill Ave. on Saturday. Rider check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m., the group will ride to The Shop Beer Co. and then Hundred Mile Brewing Co. These breweries will have $4 beer specials and live entertainment. At 3 p.m., the group will ride back to Pedal Haus for more $4 drink specials, live music and a costume contest.

Prizes will be awarded for the standout participants, including the most creative costume, most creative bike and most creative group costume. While bunny ears are welcome, attendees are encouraged to go all out with their costumes.

Though there is no cost to participate in the event, preregistration is requested. Reserve your spot with the Eventbrite link, and visit the Pedal Haus Brewery website for more information.
