Pro wrestling fans of the Valley, get ready to rumble. The WWE is bringing its flagship television show back to downtown Phoenix this summer.

The company has announced that “WWE Raw” will come to PHX Arena on Monday, June 9. The event will start at 4:30 p.m.

The long-running weekly television program, which began airing back in 1993, will be shown live on Netflix, its current broadcast home.

No matches have been announced yet — which isn't surprising since the event is more than two months away — but WWE superstars Gunther, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are scheduled to appear, according to the company’s website.

PHX Arena’s history with the WWE

As any local pro wrestling fanatic could tell you, Phoenix has been a hotbed for the entertainment staple for decades. The WWE has been bringing its events to town since the mid-’80s, including WrestleMania — its biggest show of the year — in 2010.

According to the billion-dollar company, Phoenix is considered one of its biggest markets in the U.S.

One of the company’s most frequent stops has been at PHX Arena. The 17,071-seat venue in downtown Phoenix has hosted multiple WWE events since it first opened in 1992 as America West Arena.

Signature WWE pay-per-views have taken place inside the building over the years, including “Royal Rumble,” “SummerSlam” and “Elimination Chamber.” The arena has also hosted numerous episodes of “Raw” and “Smackdown,” the WWE’s two biggest weekly television shows.
