In celebration of the season, chef Aaron Chamberlin at St. Francis is offering a new menu and dinner special that highlights the flavors of autumn. On Monday nights the restaurant is serving a Paella special that includes three courses for $29. Your meal starts with White Gazpacho made from cucumbers, grapes, and almonds that’s followed by a farm to table Paella made with the whatever ingredients are freshest throughout the season. Finally the dinner concludes with Crème Caramel dessert. Dishes can also be ordered a la carte. Sangria specials will also be available For more information check the St. Francis Facebook.

Join Chow Bella on Tuesday at Crescent Ballroom in downtown Phoenix for our third annual holiday literary event, Eating Christmas. We’ve got a lineup of ten writers who will share their stories of the eating and the holidays. You’re guaranteed to laugh, you might even cry, and when you get hungry, you can order food and drinks from Cocina 10. Admission to the event is free, though you’re welcome to bring a few cans of food to donate to St. Mary’s Food Bank. The readings begin at 7 p.m.

Bryan’s Black Mountain BBQ

Adventurous diners seeking a seasonal thrill can head to Bryan’s Black Mountain Barbecue this month for a taste of lutefisk, the traditional Nordic dish. Chef Bryan Dooley is serving his own take on the classic dried fish, serving Aquavit infused lutefisk wrapped in phyllo dough with a mash of rutabaga and potatoes and served with maple and chipotle caramelized vegetables.
