Buqui Bichi Brewing, a craft brewery from Hermosillo, Mexico, made its U.S. debut in July 2023. The Mexican company’s first stateside location opened in downtown Chandler on the southeast corner of Frye Road and Arizona Avenue.
But now, after just over a year, the brewery and restaurant has closed.
The company started in Hermosillo in 2016, when brothers Luis and Ramon Osuna wanted to bring styles of craft beer they had tried in the U.S. back home. The brewery expanded in Mexico and it was a full circle moment for the owners to launch a taproom in Arizona.

The brewery’s beers are crafted in Hermosillo and imported to its other locations. In Chandler, the tap list included staples along with rotating seasonal options. Customers could pair pints or flights with food ranging from tacos and sopes to American brewpub classics like burgers and pizza.
In January, the company opened a second Valley location in downtown Phoenix. That taproom, on the southeast corner of Van Buren Street and First Avenue, remains open.
At the Chandler bar and restaurant, a “space available” sign has reportedly been posted to the building and the phones have been turned off. An employee at the downtown Phoenix location confirmed that the Chandler brewery has shuttered.
