Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Burger Time
Summertime is a time for kite flying, picnics and grilling burgers — unless you live in Phoenix, where triple digit temperatures keep you locked up in your air conditioned house like a prisoner. Thankfully, this month you don’t have to miss out on any of the summertime burger fun, just let someone else do the cooking for you.

For the rest of August, celebrate “Burger Daze” with Liberty Market in Gilbert. Each day of the month a different burger is featured, and you know it will be good with Chef Traina as the creative mind behind the operation (he just happens to have been the first chef at DeLux). The burger roster includes some mouth watering names such as the Buffalo Wing Burger, the Roasted Chili Burger, and the Palermo Burger topped with Eggplant Parm and Marinara sauce. Try 10 different burgers and Liberty Market will give you a $25 gift certificate.

If Gilbert is bit of a drive for you, Christopher’s at the Biltmore has a Burger and Wine Deal going on till the end of the week or until they run out of wine. $15.95, plus tax and tip, will get you a burger with frites and a half bottle of Beaujolais-Villages wine.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

Cookie Spoons
Heather Baird over at SprinkleBites.com has impressed us yet again. Every time this woman makes something she makes it beautiful. We could spend all day admiring her photos, but instead we’ll try our hand at this absolutely fantastic idea for Peanut Butter Mousse in Tuile Cookie Spoons
