It’s that time again. We’ve compiled a small but meaningful list of great Twitter accounts for any Phoenix foodie to follow. In honor of all this crazy Haboob-y monsoon weather, we thought we’d feature Indian (where they also have monsoons) food twitterers in the Valley.
Bombay Spice (@BombaySpice)
Find some healthful Indian grub at Tatum and Shea where they make all their dishes with extra virgin olive oil instead of butter or ghee — probably ’cause they want to keep your heart healthy and coming back for a long time. Grab a mango lassi and an eggplant korma and have a happy summer meal while you watch the wall of dust roll in.
The Dhaba (@The_Dhaba) Casual Punjabi truck driver pit stop food in India can be found at Tempe’s The Dhaba. Follow their tweets for any current specials and be sure to order the chaat — it’s quite a “snack.” Fried dough with warm spiced fillings and cool yogurt – oh, yes.
Udupi Cafe (@UdupiCafe)
Start with a fried lentil donut and finish with a syrupy rose-flavored dessert. What’s not to like at Udupi Cafe in Tempe? They’ve been lacking on their twitter account (last few posts were in ’09) but let’s see if we can encourage them to jump into the conversation more often.
