Chef Doug Robson of the well-regarded Otro Cafe has been working toward reopening his beloved Gallo Blanco Restaurant since it shuttered in early 2015 after Robson and his wife, Denise, decided to “part ways” with their landlord, the owner of The Clarendon Hotel.
The new spot in the Central Phoenix historic neighborhood of Garfield, at 928 East Pierce Street, will officially open on Saturday, July 1, for dinner service from 5 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; and 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday (closed on Monday).
By August, the Robsons plan to open for lunch and brunch as well, with breakfast service rolling out in the fall.
Their menus are still under wraps, but the team has been posting teasers of dishes like chilaquiles and pan dulce, as well as a signboard featuring antojito, chicharron, ceviche, elote, sopa, pozole, and menudo.

Doug and Denise Robson are still working out their menus, but we can hope this oozy-egg beauty is on it.
