These days it’s not uncommon to see a farmer’s name on a restaurant menu right next to some of beautiful produce he grew for diners to enjoy. And that’s a great thing, recognizing our food producers for the work they do.

But you know what’s even better? Having the actual farmer right there as you enjoy the fruits — or, uh, vegetables, of his labors. And that’s exactly the idea behind local farmer Pat Duncan’s annual dining series Farmer in the House.

For the annual spring series, Duncan teams up with some of the Valley’s best chefs to put on dinners that showcase some of the pristine fruit and vegetables grown at his Litchfield Park farm.

Though the dinners aren’t specifically vegetarian, they do tend to be veggie-centric. And each course will be paired with a wine from either a featured winery, or something selected by the restaurant’s sommelier.
