It’s only been open two months, but Sunnyslope’s Central Grille is already undergoing a menu overhaul — and an upgrade, from the sounds of it.
Executive chef Bruce Griffin III, who took the helm in the kitchen last week, is the former sous chef at the AAA Five Diamond dining destination Kai, and hails from San Francisco, where he worked for chef Traci des Jardins.
Since leaving Kai, Griffin worked as executive sous chef at two other Starwood properties in the Valley, Four Points by Sheraton, and Sheraton Crescent Hotel. He’s happy to leave the corporate world and get back to working at an independently owned restaurant.
“I’d call my cooking Northern California sustainable cuisine, where the food’s the star,” Griffin tells me.
