Phoenix residents know we have some standout destinations for tacos in the Valley. But Yelp just confirmed it. The crowdsourced review site released its list of the Top 100 Taco Spots of 2025. Across Arizona, eight taquerias made the cut, with four located in metro Phoenix.

Just in time for National Taco Day – which falls on Tuesday, of course – Yelp released its list, which ranks the best taco trucks, counter-service eateries and restaurants across the country. California is home to the most winners, with a whopping 45 locations on the list. Texas came in second, with nine spots, just out-pacing Arizona’s eight.

Tacos come loaded with fresh toppings at Just Tacos and More. The fried shrimp are a winning choice.

Editor's Picks

Arizona’s winning taquerias are spread throughout the list, with one making the top 10, and another sneaking in at No. 94.

Valley winners start at No. 6, with Jalapeños Sonora Grill in Glendale. The restaurant, located on 59th Avenue just south of Greenway Road, serves a menu of classic tacos along with versions dressed up with green chiles, melted cheese, grilled onions and bacon.

Arcadia eatery Just Tacos and More came in at No. 26. The modern yet cozy restaurant is known for its unique, fully loaded tacos. The fried shrimp tacos topped with fresh mango salsa are our favorite, and to drink, don’t miss the creamy horchata with fresh apples.

The third spot to make the list was Taco Viva, a relative newcomer to the Valley’s taco scene, which came in at No. 88. This colorful Indian School Road eatery does serve standout tacos, but we visit specifically for the super-spicy, Best of Phoenix-winning carne asada fries.

And at No. 94, Baja Tacos in El Mirage just made the cut. Interestingly, this food truck sets up just down the road from La Bamba, the name that springs to mind when tacos and El Mirage are mentioned in the same sentence. But the outdoor taco stand, with its colorful red and white awning, earned a place on Yelp’s list instead.

Mix and match tacos, vampiros, mulas and more to create your own meal at Taco Viva.
