Love was in the air for two burglars who broke into a Scottsdale restaurant in late October. But now, Corrisa K. Sucanick (30) and Brian H. Morrow (39) have traded romance for handcuffs.

The two suspected burglars were arrested on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4.

On Oct. 25, the duo broke into Scottsdale eatery Mon Cheri, a floral and pink-washed space on First Avenue just east of Goldwater Boulevard. Inside, roses cover the walls and ceilings, evidently creating a romantic atmosphere for Sucanick and Morrow. The restaurant’s security cameras caught them engaging in what the police report calls “alleged amorous activities.”

Following the break-in, the restaurant posted part of the video to their social media, showing the duo removing their jackets and glancing around, with roses and greenery hanging on a trellis above them.

Mon Cheri opened in March 2024, and the over-the-top girly spot has become a popular destination for bachelorette parties, with many customers posing for photos in front of the pink, flower-covered backdrops. But in late October, the restaurant’s cameras had a very different view.

“Help.. they violated our roses,” the restaurant posted, “stole cash, liquor & our host phone…”

According to a Nov. 21 news release from the Scottsdale Police Department, detectives were able to identify the people in the video as Sucanick and Morrow thanks to evidence from the scene, the camera footage and tips from the community.

Sucanick was arrested on Nov. 3, very close to the restaurant, near Civic Center Library and Scottsdale City Court. Perhaps she stayed close, hoping her lover would return. Morrow, however, made his way to Phoenix, where he was arrested the next day at a Motel 6 near 23rd Avenue and Bell Road. Both were booked and held in custody at the Maricopa County Jail.

Sucanick was booked on one charge of third-degree burglary, and Morrow was booked on charges of third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. Neither received any charges for their alleged cupidity, as “it does not meet the criteria for criminal charges,” per the Scottsdale Police Department. At the end of the day, for these lovebirds-turned-jailbirds, maybe love wins.
