Sure, you can order seafood at almost any Mexican restaurant, but it can be questionable to say the least. When you have a hankering for a sea snail tostada, ceviche verde de camaron (shrimp marinated in spicy green sauce), or pescado relleno de jalba con crema (fish fillet stuffed with crab), we recommend Mariscos Ensenada, which translates to “seafood of Ensenada,” a coastal city in Baja. The local restaurant chain is also a destination for michelada, a tangy drink made of clamato (clam juice), lime, Tapatio salsa, salt, pepper, and Mexican beer. Another thing that sets this Mexican joint apart from the thousands of others in the Valley is the chips and salsa. Every place serves them, but not like this. The chips are always fresh and not too salty, and the salsa is a brown, peppery elixir so good you’ll want to slurp it with a straw. It’s no surprise that this reliable restaurant has six locations throughout Phoenix and one in Mesa.
