Devil’s Hideaway
As the tall ceiling gives way to brick arches and horseshoe booths, lit by orange and blue LEDs, a bar that feels more like an underground tunnel unveils itself in downtown Tempe. The intimate bar seating makes the venue seem small at first, but venture deeper into the entertainment room to find ample spaces to chat and grab a drink. Right off Mill Avenue, the historic building has an edgier vibe with loud music, graffiti-covered walls and drinks named things like This One Fucks – and by the way, it does. The combo of vodka, basil liqueur, aperol, lemon and simple syrup is balanced, light and refreshing. Although it may attract a younger crowd, the arcade games, pool and absolutely killer patio are worth wading through the crowd of ASU students.
