LAMP Café is a small, refined café from the team behind LAMP Pizzeria in north Scottsdale, which has been recognized for its Neapolitan-inspired, wood-fired pizza menu. Located right next door, LAMP Café showcases chef Matt Pilato’s talent for working with bread and traditional Italian salumi. The menu is mostly light Italian fare, including sandwiches, salads, and charcuterie, but the main attraction is always the bread. Mignulata, a highly regional, Sicilian stuffed bread that’s sliced into artful pinwheels, is savory, peppery, and simply not to be missed. The sandwiches, made on a bread that’s a cross between ciabatta and focaccia, are wonderful, arrayed with high quality Italian meats like prosciutto di parma, speck, and others. For dessert, the house-made cannoli really shines.
