When Katy Perry last toured in 2018, the world was a much simpler place. COVID-19 was still a distant memory, and we could use Twitter and Instagram as the tech bros had intended. But no matter how much the world changes (or worsens), you can always count on Perry to roar back to life with a new tour at some point.
And wouldn’t you know it: The pop singer has announced her first tour in seven years, including a July 12 show at Phoenix’s own Footprint Center. The North America leg of The Lifetimes Tour comes in continued support of Perry’s latest album, “143.” Sure, that LP may not be among the best endeavors of her career, but it does maintain a certain energy and joy in the right context. If nothing else, a new tour could mean another absurd rider for us to gawk at in shared bewilderment/amusement.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. local time via KatyPerry.com. Brush up on your modern-day Perry brand of pop by enjoying the undisputed standout from “143,” the undeniable “All The Love.”
