Earlier today, The Weekend released "Hurry Up Tomorrow," which we assume you've already been streaming all morning. Now, this summer, you'll have a chance to see Abel Tesfaye live and in person as he embarks on a stadium tour of North America. (Let's hope it just lives up to another stadium show of his from 2021.)
The latest leg of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour kicks off May 9 at Glendale's own State Farm Stadium, and includes support from rapper Playboi Carti and guest spots from producer Mike Dean. The tour runs through much of June, July and August at stadiums across the U.S. and Canada.
And you may want to take this opportunity to see The Weekend while you can. Not only because After Hours has been delayed before (it was slated for 2020 and didn't actually begin till 2022), but The Weekend may be retiring after 2025. More specifically, after 15 years as The Weeknd, Tesfaye wants to drop that stage name and perhaps do something fresh.
“It’s a headspace I’ve gotta get into that I just don’t have any more desire for," Tesfaye tells Variety (via iHeartRadio). "I feel like it comes with so much...You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all."
Tickets are on sale Friday Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
